THE FINAL LIBERATION AGAINST GREED: A testimonial to the 50th Anniversary of the People's Music Network
Life is likely best known for being that which the living most take for granted. Of course there is also the creature comfort of being a part of life, subjecting all of us, while alive, to becoming just as readily taken for granted. So let’s examine together this grant that we’re taken for, shall we?
There has been peace and rumors of peace. But peace too often is the time we plan our wars in. And, in the clear, it must be recognized that war has become so much of a part of our lives that we take way too much for granted. So keep firmly in mind that you get what you best prepare for. And why is that? It’s because it’s also exactly what we provide for. It’s what we feed at the risk of our own starvation and even mental malnutrition.
It is the objective determined by our devotions, delivered through our emotions via our collective blind commotion that makes it too easy to abandon our better notion to love life’s possibilities before we burn the sun and sink all our oceans. .
And the fire blows wild. And the quaking is mega shaking while the rising tides are sinking us deeper into the abyss of our failure to witness one another as the co-creators of the world in which we either live or die in a struggle to create that which serves life itself as a source of our collective, individual and general well being.
Well, being is sometimes difficult. We too often celebrate accomplishments which destroy us even as we ignore the attempts that could better employ us. Greed is part of a game we play at risk to the working lives we live. We could use a better game. Anyone here for a round of eco-democracy? We will still get to commune with capital as the upkeep we socially bargain for, but ultimately we will all be under contract to each other’s well being. We are who we are. But Love wants something. That having been said, it’s time to use what’s left to do what’s right. The future is filled with things that never happen. Don’t let that be your fault. Organize. It’s basically a Greek word that means bring to life. And remember, when you work for a living, you’re doing good work, The idea that we must fight is archaic. Working people have been very busy fighting back for a long time.
I say it’s time to work forward. Work as much for one another as we work for those who hire us. Because a higher us is in the works if we do. Organize. Bring love to life. We share breathing. May we always give that breath. It is justifiably meant to be taken for granted. I’ll grant you mine. Union is spelled You and I On.
And with a strong network of people’s music, we set free the best grant we can be taken for. We are ours for a song.
